Terrible performance from site

Yes, the site is really clicking tonight. I was able to upload pics for the RFF contest and there's very quick turnaround on posts.

BTW: someone told me that there is an "invisible" function such that some who are on-line do not appear in the listing of those who are "checked in". Kind of a "stealth" way of being here?

Why do we need that - why would someone "use" such a function?

Here's a new twist. For the past several days I've been getting two identical emails every time RFF sends me a reminder that someone has posted to a thread I've posted one.

anyone else getting double messages?

Because it's there, George.

I've got 3 mbps access as well, and yesterday had very slow times. After the first couple, I timed one. Took almost 4 min to access a thread in one of the forums. I felt like I was back in a 2400 baud time warp.

This change has definitely not been a good one. The difficulty is in seperating the promises from the production.... but that's true of life as well.

It'll get better, I've got faith in our leader, and his ace moderator....
