I guesss I should mention that this is the camera that came with a scratched up front element. I mean, Brillo Pad scratched up.

You shoot into the sun and you're wondering about flare. Try a lens hood and not shooting into the sun. The Solagon should be better than this example

I agree the Solagon should be better than this. It's why I bought the camera in the first place. But I did use a Prinz 29.5mm hood, and the sun was behind me for most of the shots. With a horrendously scratched up lens, it's not going to matter which way I was pointing the camera, it's going to flare.
