Test shot comparisons between the Contax T series

Here is a compilation of test shots between the Contax T2, T3 and TVS III: http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=696998

All shots were taken on either Velvia 50 or 100, a test distance giving a repro ratio of 1:51 and apertures of around f/4. Focal length were 38, 35 and 38 mm respectively.

Thanks for posting. How did you scan these?

Very tricky to evaluate because of the size differences. It is interesting to see how well the TVS III does in comparison.

I've rescanned the images to bring them in line with the others. Scanned with a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED but it limits resolution slightly. Actual central resolution on film is closer to at least 72 lp/mm on the TVS III. Stopping down the TVS III improves sharpness slightly but the main advantage is to reduce corner light fall off as one would expect. The TVS III is also very good at retaining the same high level of sharpness across the zoom range and the only change will be slower speed and a little more pincushion distortion at the long end.
