Tetenal C41, what's the limit?

I just got my 29th roll (135/36) out of the 1L kit mixed last October. The manual suggested 16 rolls.

Still no awful colour shift that can't be corrected by VueScan's Auto Level.

After two+ years (stored in refrigerator) and similar amount of films I finally tossed it out. For no real reason...

Yes.

I store the solutions in plain IKEA glass bottles, not the hi-tech accordion ones as people suggested. All in my fridge.

It depends what your quality aspect will be. When printing in RA-4 the C-41 negatives it stops around 20 films.

I'm always curious about "how off is off" for C-41 colour negatives since I have no experience in printing.

Is there a way to tell if the developed negatives are not suitable (too much colour shift) for RA-4 printing by only checking the digital scanning?

Well in RA-4 you come to a situation which you can not filter out the color shift anymore. In digital P.S. correction you have more possibilities.

In most kits your Blix or Bleach/Fixer is at the end the limiting factor. You can prolong the times for this but at a certain moment it is going in saturation.

However you can regenerate Blix by sparking with Nitrogen (N2). Air is almost 80% of this so you can use an air pump for this.

Further regeneration for the color developer is possible, even after 4-6 months not in use.

Like this type of airpump. Very simple but effective.

Is there a way to tell if the developed negatives are not suitable

With a color densitometer or test strips in the C-41 system.
