Thank Goodness for RFF - CV forum!

Ray,
Hopefully I'm not coming off as bad-mouthing CVUG, just venting my frustration about wading through 90+% off topic post there. Hey if that's how they want to run it, I'm just a new guy there.
I've got a question up there now, I'll see how it gets answered.
Anyone that knows me, knows I'm far from "grey" but I LOVE the RFF!!

🙂 You're not coming off as such. Heck, I agree with you (I was the 2nd post on this thread) and I'm a Leica (and a CV) user! 🙂 I think you've pointed out a disappointment, something we've all been patiently enduring while waiting for it to play out (but that Leica discussion keeps going on and on). However, there is effort there, and also people who appreciate CVUG much as we appreciate RFF. I think we should take care in our discussion here not to offend those individuals. I just wanted to note that. 🙂

I'd hate to read on CVUG that RFF was mistaken for being inconsiderate of them, and have ourselves looked upon as yet another PN. I agree though, currently CV products have been better served here on the mighty RFF. 😉 Thanks H! 🙂

...This forum shows up the rest...
Agreed! I haven't posted here before, but I've been lurking for a while and I just wanted to say that this forum has been an excellent resource for someone like myself who has recently become a Bessa RF addict. Everyone here has good manners AND gives practical advice. No flaming, no off-topic rants, no BS to wade through while trying to learn something.

So, thanks.

I thought I'd add my voice to the chorus. My black 50/2.5 arrived from a list member today. Beautifully made lens and hope to give it work out this weekend.

This forum is a killer. It just feeds my habit.

I do have a complaint though, it, like RF cameras, becomes addictive. I can't count, and I don't want to-is that denial-the number of times I check in here. It is too much fun!

Even though the RFF has a section for Leica discusion, the talk of it's demise hasn't taken over the entire list. The talk of "how to save Leica" has completely taken over the CVUG list, I'm ready to bail there.
But I'm here to stay ~ ; - )

The CVUG has no sections that's the prob. And tho following the rules Leica IS OT for CVUG the Leica owners are Stephen Gandy's clients too. So one has to accept that such issues are discussed on the list too.
Really annoying for me are threads about digital cameras going on and on for days and days, mostly starting with an RD-1 question. Or SLR threads of Nikon FM, OM-x and Pentax users. But since there is a Bessaflex with M42 at least the Pentax users are potential clients of camera quest. Not realistic to expect Stephen to drive them outta the list.
Tho there is from time to time going an OT storm over the community I like this list nevertheless. Much knowledge and experience there, the very most members are polite and friendly folks. "mark and delete" is easy, isn't it ? 🙂
Best,
Bertram

Bertram,
Yes, I did get lots of good answers to two questions I posted their also. Part of my reason for asking there was to see if I could steer the list back "on topic" and they are nice people on the list.
Still I don't see a problem with venting occasional frustration. ~ ; - )

Leica, Harley, Leica, Harley - THAT'S IT, I'M DONE.
I'll join the Leica/Harley list if I wanted to listen to this stuff.
I'll trust the RFF to keep me updated on Bessa R information. :bang: :bang: :bang:
