That Nikkormat FTn.

Finally finished a roll of TMAX 100 in the Nikkormat…and it is waiting to be developed. 😇

I am busy scanning another roll of film so maybe this weekend I will have it done. 😃Can’t wait!

Is the LR44 in your black FTN still producing good meter readings? If SR44/LR44 batteries work well In Nikkormat FTN’s, that is indeed good to know.

SR44’s have better voltage-decay characteristics than the LR44, so that may be even better.

Absolutely, I was really surprised and it matches the chrome FTN meter that has the L5160 battery. 😎

Erik,

I really admire how consistent you are with your development and printing. Your prints from the 1970s look like they could have come from the same rolls as your prints from 2023. And they all look great!

Thanks, all my prints here are recently made on Ilford MGFB glossy with a Focomat llc. There is not much difference between the films from the 1970's and the films that are available now. In the 1970's however there was no split grade printing. Split grade printing is quite a different workflow.

Erik.

You're welcome Erik. I'm still having my film developed in a lab and printing digitally, but I have saved several of your posts about topics like split grade printing for use if the day should come that I can learn darkroom printing.

Ok, just finished developing the first roll from the chrome FTB with the “new to me” 50/2.0 H Auto lens. The negatives look great!

They look good. Stick at it and keep showing us. I also hope things have generally picked up for you.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I have very little time and energy but the Nikkormat makes things a little easier and is good for the soul.😇

More scans this weekend and then I will start shooting some more. 🙂Expect banal motifs that will be abstracts of daily life in our community and our little town. As a sole caregiver, I can’t venture farther from home than that for obvious reasons. 👍

The new lens is really nice!

But, DD-X is wonderful as well…👍

This may be the last time the 50/1.8 lens will ever be on the chrome Nikkormat FTN. It has a lot of mileage and character. Love it.
