That one item I always forget!

I am been wondering this for a while, a simple thought really. Do you have that moment, when you go out shooting, when you think, "Oh, cr#(*" I should have brought item X with me! Well for me it happens all the time and its a really simple thing, a hat. Its not until I am out shooting and the wind is blowing my hair into my lens that I think, oh no fogot a hat again!



So is there a usuful item that you always find you left at home?

I sometimes foget a camera of any sort, which is really annoying. I have an Oly XA or RC with me most times, just not when they would be useful!

PS I like the reflections and cloaked figure shots on your website - one is quite serene, the other is dramatic.

I often neglect to bring another roll of film. 🙂 And sometimes forget the light meter...

As stated by Merphy law: the best opportunities occur when you have no camera at your disposal. Now, after a happy camping into Leica world I used to take it with me everywhere unless weather doesn't permit (heavy rains and I'm expected to stay outside), but so far nothing is falling in the eyes worth of the "decisive moment". I know, the first attempt leaving the camera at home some wonderful photo oportunity will rise up ahead of me and as usual I'll be cursing myself not taking my Leica with me...

this problem obsesses me up to insanity. Result: I want a bag for each camera and when I plan a trip I start thinking what gear to bring with me months ahead of departure (what a torment!) And yet one day in 2005 I visited a fabolous place in Hawaii and, as a beginner (after 50 years of photos) shamelessly I found myself with not enough film. It was a hot day and I thought that unused film out of refrigerator would get spoiled. This is the most idiot thing I could do. I promise that henceforth I will always take with me 10 rolls at least

I have on occasion wished I had brought along my TLR for a particular shot as opposed to 35mm gear...bigger is sometimes better...but quite a load to haul everything you think you will need....now for thise digitally inclined I would bet an AC outlet would be handy😀
