Brand new to the world of MF and TLR's, and film in general. well except a Diana Mini i got for christmas. I found stumbled across the TLR forum here while looking for m4/3 stuff and fell in love. A couple weeks later i saw a Yashica D listed in UG condition on KEH. well i got my first rolls back from walmart(cannot beat $.84) and am very pleased with the results and thought i'd share some of the better ones in return for the time ive managed to kill in school while looking at the show your TLR thread. I gotta saw i'm in love with film now. the feeling of winding it up, the wait to get the negatives, felt like a little kid on christmas scanning these in.

Looks like $39 well spent.
Why was it rated Ugly?

Very nice......are you using a hood?

no hood, but had some flaring in some of the other shots, so i think that will be my next purchase. I really have no idea why it was rated UG. there is a small nick on the shutter speed knob. and some a little bit of dust in the lens.

Not ugly at all, made some great photos. You got a heck of a deal.

For some strange reason, Yashica D's sell for more than Yashicamats on eBay. I can not figure out why. The D is a copy of the Rolleicord, and the "mat" is a copy of the Rolleiflex Automat. They both make fine photos.

Great photos from your Yashica D. I have one, too, and just love the pictures it produces. Great, bargain performers in the TLR world.

Nice shots! I love Yashica TLRs, especially the old Yashica with max opened.

I'll take an "ugly" camera like that any day of the week. BTW, which lens do you have on the camera, the Yashinon or the Yashikor?

Nice results! And that Yashica defintely doesn't look ugly to me. What a great deal.
Im a fellow TLR fanboy so Im just going to advise you to get it over with and track down a Mamiya C330 and a Rolleiflex at some point soon. Its a steep slope and all downhill from here
