I got this lens on Saturday morning. Almost immediately I put it on one of my cameras and started shooting away. Needless to say, the first victim was Ben... who suffered stoically my charge with Reala film.

Of course, this is an environmental portrait of Ben, with his partner, at his workplace, the living room, where he naps professionally.

The last celebratory Hexanon shot, I promise!

These kids were playing hockey on the frozen surface of the campus lagoon. They didn't mind much my taking their photo, along with a nice helping of the landscape. Film? Reala, rated at ISO 50.

Hmmm, couldn't find an attach button when replying, I'll try again.

Congrats on the Hexanon Francisco.

From what I see here, I bet it's the 50/2.

Here's one from the 50/2.0 in black and white with Ilford HP5:

Thanks for the reply, Peter!

Actually, it's a rather obscure Hexanon... a 35mm, also designed for the Konica Hexar RF, like yours. I already have a 'cron 50/2, with which I have learned a lot about composition.:D

Francisco Francisco Francisco....

My most sincere congratulations !!!

Anyway... now I suppose you'll stop during some time, isn't it ? ;)

Oscar

Oscar, I left the house this morning without a camera... and I'm not feeling well. My hands are shaking and I'm sweating profusely, but I think I'll go through the day. All I need to do to gather the strength is remember that my little babies are waiting for me at home... :)

Boy, does that sound sick... :p

Congrats, Francisco! Maybe we'll see how it does with shadows this month? If I can find an orange filter (to darken sky-lit shadows) to fit my newish 43mm Pentax leica-thread lens, we may see how it does too.

I can see Ben is an expert napper, having long observed our professionals in, er, inaction here. :-D

So,you are a happy man now.Congrats!
I believe there are three versions of the Hexanon 35mm f2, the Hexanon 35mmf2(chrome finish), the UC Hexanon(UC means different lens coating then the original ones) and the M-Hexanon.All with the same 7-element design focus down to 0.9 meter.
I enjoy looking at your photos, thanks!

hehehe, I recognize that feeling !

Not sure if sick, but probably not completely normal :p

Taipei, I have the M version (it caught my eye, as I remember having read that Konica lenses had the KM moniker). Chris, if I could afford the Summicron, I would have skipped the Hexanon, so I'm the wrong person to ask about these things.

My little babies are home alone... and I'll be back there soon to greet them! <insert creepy laugh track here>

In fact, one of those bodies has a "fraudulent" IR roll of SFX film. Let's see how it works... Right now, the time to get some stuff done has come! :)

Konica really did make SUCH a mistake with that KM-mount nonsense - if they hadn't been so unclear/evasive about the Leica compatability issue maybe we'd still have the various hexanons in production today.

Chris - I haven't used the 35/2 Summicron myself so I can't directly comment, but there's a comparison with the UC-Hexanon here and some general comparisons between some of the M-Hexanons and their Leica and Voigtlander counterparts here.

Chris, don't get me wrong or assume I'm a jerk (I just re-read my reply to you). It simply happens that I'm over compensating for not having been able to purchase the Leica. As for comparison, I believe Erwin Putts has one in his own website, and, if not, a review (not favorable) of this lens.

However, the Hexanon doesn't seem too bad a compromise when you cannot swing a 35/2 'cron ASPH... :)

Actually, one lens I'd like to have... the Summilux 50/1.4. Why? I think I could you the additional half stop, but not now.

Plus... it really looks cool...!

  Shallowness Attack!!
