My M5s need red dots!
Today came my Leica M6 TTL. I put the Summicron on the body, loaded with the cheap Kodak chromogenic film and proceeded to shoot. This was the first photo at f2, 1/30. There is some great sharpness to this image, and if not, then I must be drunk!
BTW, this is my wife, reading e-mail.

i'm kinda jealous and i don't even shoot 35 anymore.
weird?!
now, i'm thinkin', maybe sell it all, find a nice m5 and a 35mm lens and totally simplify.

Thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate your comments. Even my wife liked her photo, which is a lot coming from her (she has high standards).
Joe, the thought of selling ALL my stuff (except my medium format gear) and invest it in Leica has come to my mind. So far, it's been easy to keep it at bay...

Let's revive the Attack of the Summicron thread with a hip shot.
BTW, this was done with a much newer lens... with the same old M6TTL chrome body, hanging from my neck as I was walking back home, on Reala film. I believe it was set at f16, and the light allowed me to shoot at 1/60. First time prefocus works for me!

Francisco, great shot !
You've got a lot of dynamics with her hair ! How far were you from them ?
Also, it's nice the detail of her hands, as a kinda nervous guy that bites his nails, that behaviour looks familiar to me

Thanks a lot for your kind comments, Oscar! Lady Luck was on my side that day, Oscar. First I metered, and given the light conditions, I had a nice EV: f16 at 1/60 is good enough of a quick shot. Then I prefocused the lens as I was walking, and when I saw these two people coming my way, I simply pushed the shutter release. I really didn't think I had caught them (the two following shots were duds), so I was really surprised the trick worked.
There's a website belonging to a Swedish photographer, who using a Leica, prefocuses at 2.5 meters and shoots around. He says he burned more film than he cares to remember before getting his "technique" down pat. Some of his shots aren't too engaging, although he has incredibly expressive photos of mothers in grocery stores, dealing with kids. If I have it bookmarked, I'll post the link here later.
Again, thanks for your comments!

I have been saving this one for the Smilies.
I got tired of those AF people talking about not being able to focus an RF on a moving subject.
M3 with Type I Rigid Summicron.
I call it:
"Summicron LeicaM Seagull"

Neat shot! And you prefocused?
Sorry, Oscar, I thought I had bookmarked the site of the Swedish guy but I cannot find it.
Now... is it or is it not that RF cameras seem to work by a different scale all of them? What one camera "reads" at 20 feet, another one sees at 25. Am I right or wrong? I've never been able to compare, but it does feel like a certain distance in my Canonet, if set in a Leica, wouldn't render the same shot in focus.
I hope I'm making myself clear enough here... It's late and I need to sleep!

Here is my accomplice. The shot is not pre-focussed; but the gulls slowed down enough to "focus" and "follow" them as they swooped down to catch a piece of bread. This particular gull was in disbelief as Nikki ate the piece of bread that he wanted. I explained to Nikki that you do not want to get seagulls mad at you.
