The beautiful work of Jan Morek -Photographing socialist Poland

It's such a pleasure discovering a new (to me) photographer who's work makes so much sense to me.

I came across a picture of a couple kissing under the sleepless eyes of comrad Lenin, searching online I found the photographer and his work, all of it from the time of People's Republic of Poland (PRL).



His website is not the easiest to navigate but the quality of his work is really remarkable.

Excellent discovery Pan! I'm going through his images now. Crazy image of him in his bio carrying multiple motorized Hasselblads while covering Pope John Paul II.

What I like the most is his street work, he can keep a balance between people and their surroundings - he is not taking street portraits or snapshots. For example :
