the Big Question of Today

I bet he would have said something different if he had a career in the visual arts

Visual Arts ? No problem.

Wasn't he HCB the one who said the only thing photographers have in common is that they all stand behind a camera ?

And now from something Made in Home. From wherever you approach it, one or the basic issues facing any human being is either to take sanctuary within "the public", the accepted, the "norm", the "mainstream" OR stand on her/his own feet and opinion at risk of remaining outcast. The easy way or the hard way.

But if i WANT to understand other people's point? If so many like it, there has to be something in it! It cannot be just camaraderie, snobism or cultural background!

How about personal preference? Some people love bright colours, some hate it. Pink vs Blue vs Red vs Green #201243 etc. There's just a certain point where people will like something for no particular reason.

One of my favourite fruits is the Durian, but it's also likely the most hated fruit on earth  .

Pherdinand,

Here is a quote that might help eleviate your problem.

"A picture can be an answer as well as a question but if you can't answer your question try to question your question. There are clever questions and stupid answers as well as stupid questions and clever answers. There can be questions without answers but no answers without questions. To be or not to be — that is the question. To see or not to see — that is an answer."
