Well, it's a long trip from Perry Como to Nirvana, but since I'm always telling people in a photographic "rut" to pack their gear and go someplace they've never been, I've decided to take a bit of my own advice and spend a week on the Other Coast, where I've never been. Specifically, Seattle, WA. (Surely, the guy who wrote that song was a descendant of the folks that named Greenland and Iceland, no?)

Anyway, I'm not really in a rut, and the chance to travel came by way of a special invitation. I'll be leaving in a little over a week, and I'll be watching the forecast to tweak my film choices (though I'm leaning toward simply feeding the Hexars and Contax Tvs lots of Kodak BW400CN, leaving what color I shoot to my little Nikon P6000).

I know about the usual go-to places to see, and I'm generally more into exploring a new city by myself rather than ask the usual what-shouldn't-I-miss questions, but if anyone has a quirky idea or two, I might be game. (Just keep a lid on Mt. Ranier while I'm there; my arrival in a new place sometimes provokes "surprises.")

You'll love it.

You'll love it.

My wife and I love Seattle. We go there and up to Victoria BC to see the Killer Whales.

Have fun
