Mmmm...bokeh.

That's tempting. The last thing I need is to want a 75mm lens enough to ponder going the M6 route instead of sticking with my plan of an M2. Hm. I'll have to do more research.

I give up. Looks like I may get an M4-P instead.

I really think I'd like this lens. I can imagine how this plus a 35mm Ultron or Nokton would be as a combination. The 75 as a short portrait lens and the 35mm as my everyday shooting lens.

Man, I'm doing the Joe. The difference is that I'm NOT giving up my Canon P in the process. 😀

In the off chance that I decide to buy lenses and not an M body, how is the accessory finder for this lens? I've found out that I'm very comfortable doing the whole focusing in one window and composing in another because of the Argus C3...I shouldn't have a problem using the lens with my P with a finder.

Sockeyed: That tree is just a youngster. Very nice photo! I need to use my 75 more often.

Stephanie,

Does the Canon P have a 100mm frame inside the 50mm frame?

If so, I own that lens and have used it on a Canon VI-T with the 50-100 framelines and on an M5 with 50-90 framelines. It's pretty easy to guesstimate the 75's coverage in between the two pairs of framelines. PLUS, you don't run the risk of changing focus point when switching to the viewfinder. AND, as Joe pointed out, the camera suddenly becomes very un-stealthy with a viewfinder perched on top. Of course, if I'm all wet & you feel the need for the viewfinder, you can always add it.

Oh, and if the sample above weren't enough inducement, the overall size of the lens+hood is just a tad bit longer than either of my two 50s.

Yes, I am an enabler. 😀

I'd like to try it out first to see if it matches my shooting style, but I'm not near a Voigtlander distributer nor do I know anyone around here with the lens. 😛 I'm finding, though, that I find an 85mm slightly too long in some cases but the 50 is too short...I figure it would slove that problem.

Stephanie,

get a 75 and the M6, both of them will pay off. The M6 is quite likely to drop in price once the M8 is out.

The best deal going for use as a finder for the lovely cv 75 is the bessa r.
No matter what else you have, you gots to have at least one R..

I never really grew into my 75... but since I've got a dslr (ahem) I've been using my pentax 50/1.4 a lot which equates to a 75mm POV.

So I should hide my Nokton 50 for a while and force myself to use the 75.
Nothing like a lack of choice to improve your pictures! 🙂
