I'm reminded of a scene from The Year of Living Dangerously where these definitions are offered:

"If it's in focus it's porn,
if it's out of focus, it's art."

Consider shooting wide open for selective focus.

That's for sure - f8 (or even f4) on the 50mm won't happen 😀

Folks.. thanks for all the advice on this one.

Here's some shots from my first shoot with this sort of subject matter.
Sadly, I didn't have a chance to use either the Rollei or the Leica - it was late in the afternoon, indoors, and I didn't have the right film loaded in either camera.. the digital "stuff" would have to do..

I think there's a lot I can still work on (clearly) but I know that the "customer" liked what I had to show her on the LCD so hopefully she'll dig the final result as well.

Only thing I would say is that the hair and the teddy (in 3 and 4) are a little askew in a way that says "we were trying but didn't get this quite right" more than "we're being casual".

I like 1 a lot, 4 is almost there I would have changed the shooting angle, or the model's positioning to have the lens closer to the upper body than lower. All in all great work, much better than I could do.

Stewart; I could probably leave the grain "as is" out of the camera - #1 had a bit of noise reduction done because it was at ISO 6400 !! 🙂

Gabe, I don't have a clue re: Boudoir - I guess I just went with whatever they called it 😀

I think the "next time" I do stuff like this I would want more "smiles" per se.. not necessarily full on smiles but more the "coy little look" that tells me she knows something that I don't... but will soon find out.. ya know?

I know I can improve on this stuff.. I just have to get the opportunity to do so..
