pardon a link to the Bay, but ---

For those who can't decide which FSU to try first, a FED or a Zorki, here's the best of both worlds... (and brace yourselves for sticker shock! :eek: )
1948 FED.Zorki
Gotta be the lowest serial number and highest pricetag I've seen on a Zorki. But I have to say, it looks in pretty decent shape.
 
It looks really good! At that price, I couldn't even be allowed to dream of getting it! :eek:

Camera shows a lot of FED traits, as interpreted by KMZ.

One thing I have enjoyed about Zorkis is that they are relatively inexpensive. This one would blow that enjoyment to pieces (..and my marriage!)

Interesting FED.2, lubitel. The distance between VF - RF windows looks like a mile!

What is with these prices?
I have to be honest, and i may make myself some enemies here, but my main interest in the FSU rangefinders was the price. At this price I would just buy a Leica!!!!!

Dubious honesty on Ebay? I'm shocked and outraged!

While FSU cameras do have a certain charm all their own...
We would ALL just buy a Leica!
or maybe a Contax,
or a Cannon,
or a Nikon,

Comrades! Comrades! Don't falter. Don't give in to evil lusting for self-centered gratification! Don't forget that we love our FSUs for the good of the People!! We must not let temptation turn our heads to those cheap German copies!

If this FED.Zorki sells for the BIN price, the world will know that FSUs have come into their own, that THEY are the originals (...okay, too far there :cool: ), and that the Motherland is alive and flourishing... the price of Zorkis and FEDs will continue to rise and all of us will make out like bandits! ... uhhh, errr, scuze me .... I mean, the People, the People will once again be able to feed their families!

Soooo... for our wives, for our children, for those fallen junkies... I mean, Comrade photogs who have gone on before us, for the People... someone needs to step up and take one for the team... uhhh, I mean... for the People. Yes, the PEOPLE! Who is the Comrade that will lay down his own life (credit card and marriage included :eek: ) and pop that BIN button?!! In one single moment of insanity... errr, I mean ... By one brave and self-less action, the value of every FSU on your shelf [and mine] could jump dramatically, for the People...

Who'll do it for the People?

Oh yes, the exquisite FED S. Around 2000 made, so says Princelle. Amateur Photographer tested one in '45. I'd love to see some pictures from that lens, wide open...

Yes Ian, it seems that my attempt at a subtle joke on the "did i buy a fake contax" thread became a bit of a big joke, course I wouldn't recommend looking for that lady at work ;)

Hmm I think the price is high for the Fed-S... still very nice though!

I don't think there are even 80 people on this forum who like FSU's :D

I'd go halves with someone, or maybe 3rds, then share it, until someone coughs up the full amount and pays off the rest ;)
