Ken, I only use AF lenses on my Df (which seems to not be the norm)...and the 58mm 1.4g is always on it. I just love the combo.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to borrow a Df this past weekend. I can see why folks like the camera. I specifically wanted to see how well it worked with my non-AI Nikkors. From reviews I read when it first came out, I put a DK-17M magnifying eyepiece on it and the AR-11 soft release. Both improved the feel and function of the camera and my speed of focusing. The sensor is beautiful in the camera, and when I had time to focus and compose the images, I was pleased with the results.
It's not going to work for my usual workflow though because I found that my ability to focus the non-AI lenses on the Df was quite a bit slower than when I use them on my Nikon F.
But it's a really cool camera and I think it would work really well with auto-focus lenses.

I like the controls, I've always a preferred traditional layout. The sensor is what's reeling me in, though!

Tom, good to see you! I wasn't around here or anywhere for the better part of a year due to real life. We are really lucky to have ProCam nearby - it's like walking into a well stocked camera store ca. 1980. Although some of the MF film gear in the window display makes me a little sad...

I personally would go full frame. Did the dx/aps sensor thing for awhile and wasn't really happy till I shot my first fx format body (D3). I got used to what certain lenses would do on 35mm film years ago ( my favorite "standard" lens is a 20mm) and could just never wrap my brain around the crop factor. This is, of course, my personal opinion. Your actual results may vary.

I have to agree - I've been using my MF glass on DX all along, but having FX is like coming home again.

And I will add that, as a neck strap user, the 58mm 1.4g balances the camera right where the 50mm AF lenses tend to allow the camera to tilt bottom out (i.e. not balancing correctly).
