Hello all! This is my first post and also I'm new to film photography as a whole. I was wondering if any of you have used "The Darkroom" in California to mail your film in to get delevoped and how you would rate them. I e had my last 2 rolls developed by Walgreens and I'll never go there again, I'd like to have my negatives but they don't give them to you with your prints. Thanks in advance!

I do not recommend them if you want pro quality images. And why wouldn't you? They are part of Swan Photo which is just a big consumer level processing house. I received images with weird drip marks, and 120 scans with linen like scan lines.
Their thing is that you download the images from a drop box type site. One time the site was down for over a week, but they would not compensate me for the delay, even though I had paid for the agreed upon service time.
But they are cheap, right? Nope. The pro quality labs I use are cheaper and give results that you will be amazed by. I use both northcoastphoto.com (who are in Carlsbad, CA) if I need E6 or B&W, or THEFINDLAB.com if I need C41 (regular colour film).
Only downside with thefindlab is that their turnaround can be up to 2 weeks. northcoast tends to be the same week.
