Mine are just plain boring ;)

Hi,

I really like this one.
How long was he sitting there? Was he like this for a while or was this over in a few seconds?

So many good images on this thread.

I was wakling by the open bar window and as I did he was talking to a person not in the frame and he shifted his position to mimic the painting I shot and he it was gone again just that fast.

Hi,

That's what I thought.
I'd call that a decisive moment. Well done.

Same thing has happened to me many times. It seems like I can feel it happening, I'm not sure what, but something is about to happen. I guess or try to stay still and see what it is. I've actually raised my camera not knowing why but getting ready. Sometimes I get the shot, sometimes I don't.

One of the earliest and best for me was probably some video I was shooting.
A bride is dancing at the reception with her father and I follow them, panning to the right. As they come to the edge of the dance floor I also have in frame a table where her three sisters and a male cousin happen to be sitting together, watching. He is closest, facing the floor sort of slouching in his chair, with the three sisters sitting on the table or standing behind him.

For some reason, as the bride and father dance back to the left, I don't follow but stay on the table. The sisters and cousin are watching the bride and smiling. The bride and father have cleared the frame, but I stay on the table, waiting. Slowly, so his female cousins just behind him don't notice, the male cousin raises his hand to his face and quickly wipes away a tear.
Recorded the whole thing. It probably took less than a minute.
I could not have done it better if it was planned.

Not sure I needed to share that, but I guess if anyone is going to appreciate that, it will be someone on this forum and on this thread.

Good story.
