At first I thought it was all internet paranoia, a little play in the lens, no big deal.

I went to try out some RFs at my local store. Lucky me, they had the silver 28 ZM shining on a shelf. Put it on the R4 they had there. It's magic!

Whoever says that this lens is big, should look for some p&s, seriously. I mean, it will not fit your jeans pocket, but otherwise it's perfectly fine. I bet it balances the camera too, so it doesn't lean back.

Anyway, I focus it and damn! There is a very annoying play in the focus ring, feels like the lens is not properly mounted. Not cool.

I had a CV 35/1.4 and the quality was very good. Bought it new and no problem for a year or so until I lost it :bang: The aperture ring was a moving a little if I "pulled" the "ears" back and forth. However, you are not supposed to do that. No play in other CVs I tried also.

So spending big dollar on a new ZM that comes with focus play, what's up with that?

every time I read about some ZM getting sold this problem gets mentioned.

i'm sure that the people that don't really have this problem are out shooting and enjoying this awesome lens and not complaining on the internets.

however, it's a very pricy lens for me and I can't really drop a lot of cash in something that needs to be sent to Germany or whatever to get it to work like it should work in the first place...

as for the minor fixes I don't think I can pull the lens apart, fiddle with it and some greasy stuff and get it done :)
