Sincere apologies if this has been a subject of debate before but it appears that Kodak may well be discontinuing Kodachrome 200. The latest advert from Mathers in Amateur Photographer makes reference to their stock being the last batch, Mailshots are advising customers to contact them for all Kodachrome availability and 7DayShop are adamant that it's going:

I never liked it quite as much as K25/64 as I always thought it to be a bit too grainy with (sometimes) an odd colour balance in certain lighting but I'd be very sorry to see it go.

A cynical person would perhaps say that you can always tell when Kodak are about to stop making or providing something because they either deny it right up until the last minute (Kodachrome processing in Europe is a good example) or they try some diversion like their latest statement (In A.P.) that most photographers prefer film to digital.

That figures. We just hear that Walmart may be doing processing at a decent price and Kodak stops making it. I guess that just leaves Kodachrome 64?

Seems to be true

Seems to be true

I went to the Kodak professional website, and the only Kodachrome film I saw listed was the 64. It is sort of funny how it is written: " KODACHROME Professional Films. The first family of color-transparency films still delivers highly realistic color and fine detail, with great long-term stability." And then after the introduction to this "family" of film, theu only have one film listed.

Here is the link to the Kodachrome site:http://www.kodak.com/global/en/prof...achromeIndex.jhtml?id=0.2.22.14.11.22.7&lc=en

Kodachrome...

Kodachrome...

" I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama dont take my kodachrome away"

Great lyrics.

It was mentioned on one of the other boards (APUG?) some time ago that Kodak had done their last coating of K-200 and when that was sold out there would be no more.
