How many here read the Wall Street Journal? Every day the center
column is devoted to an offbeat topic, such oddball events and people who have strange hobbies etc. How long do you think it will be before the WSJ
has an article about the weird world of RF nuts like us? The article will
describe our odd devotion to film and the fact that we wil pay high prices for rare editions of Leica RF film cameras etc. Words like "bokeh" will be discussed and lifelong quests for ultra rare and possibly non-existent
cameras ( such as third reich editions)will be humorously covered. On the other hand, there may be a resurgence of film that will make RF a very serious
topic . Already we have seen that digital "images" are causing controversy
and a true 35 mm negative may become a gold standard of "proof" of
an actual rendition of an event. The general public seems to be gradually be-
coming somewhat jaded about digital and I have personally met several
profesional and semi-pro photogs who are least adding an RF back to their kit.
There are programs like "Grainsurgery" thet are designed to make an "image"
look like a photo.
As an aside, did anyone else see the rather discreet ad for the M7 in
today's Men's Fashion supplement to the NYT?
