Loneliness sees loneliness.
I took photographs of sad things when I was sad.
Recently I took a lot of photos of stray dogs. When I looked at them, suddenly I realized that I've been feeling homeless. Can't find a place that I feel attached to.

Sure, a homeless guy with a Noctilux and an M8...
I want to be a homeless person like you.

Not intending to add to your depression, but it looks like your rangefinder might need some adjustment/calibration.
I hope you find something in life that helps you perk up!

@Nh3 - no it's not Noc + M8 (I don't even have an M8!). It's my new Kern Macro Switar 50/1.8 + R-D1s.
Then again, you can have everything in the world, but still feel hollow inside. I'm glad my problem's not that big.
@Gumby - It's not mechnical problem. It's just me that were trying new style but, seemingly failed in your eyes. ;-p
A camera in my hand is what's been keeping me up these days.

Wow, how's that a stupid response? Don't you have a sense of humor...? oh wait, sorry didn't notice that you're from Sweden. lol
Deepwhite is always melodramatic and he can take a joke so you back off and stop being a juvenile finger-pointer!

Are you sure that's a finger being pointed?

Hi Rogrund,
It's alright. Nh3 was only joking. We don't know each other, but he'd been responding to my post now and then; that was why he mentioned "Noctilux".
Peace. Peace. Peace.

deepwhite, think about it, when you were photographing those dogs and feeling all depressed, they were like, "wtf is this human doing following us around with that thing in his hand..."

@Gumby - I was experimenting if slow shutter speed + a bit mis-focusing would producing some "film like" flavor. Not succeful yet, but I think I'm getting something. Still need some more work.
@Nh3 - I think what they were thinking should be:
"Now that's why humans should use a Leica. The shutter sound of an R-D1s is really annoying for sleeping dogs!!!"

@Nh3: sorry for the finger-pointing. I mistook your joke for a malignant remark. Maybe I don't have a sense of humour, I'm not from Sweden but I guess I've lived here too long. Maybe I should move to Canada.
@Gumby: very funny!
@deepwhite: sorry for intervening.

I like the shots, especially the first and last ones. I think you have the beginnings of a great theme there.

I agree with you. Homelessness can be a state of mind, as well as a social situation. As for the photos, the set already shows a wonderful conceptual and aesthetic coherence. I'm sure you are able to make a photograph that exhibits technical finesse in terms of focus and absence of camera movement. Yet these concerns aren't those of this set of images, are they? I love your framing and your approach. I urge you to pursue the project, and I would really enjoy to see more of your work in this forum. Keep pushing yourself and your photography.

@Rogrund - All's fine. In fact I'm glad you "intervened". ;-)
@morgan & Crane - Thanks for the kind words.
I think, for #1 & #5, it would be better if my hands had shaken less. Yet for #4, I actually have another shot, with which my hands did not shake for 1/2 sec. I examined both pictures and finally chose this one, with which my hands shook more.
Then again, for #3, I got another shot that's more blurring, but in the end I picked this one that's less blurring.
I think it's because the dog was lying still and watching me in #3, while in #4 it was moving. Different motion requires different hand-shaking maybe?
As a Leica M cam (M7, Hexar RF, Bessa R2A) and R-D1s user, that keep comparing the performance of the same lens between digital and film, I really don't think digital would ever look like film. But there is some more space for an amateur like me to explore.
I'm just happy to be able to do what I'm doing now. Photography is great.

It's nice to fall back on something to help keep us sane. I looked over your photos over on flickr & I can feel your mood in your work. Maybe it's partly because I understand where you are comming from. Nice work BTW.
