My M5s need red dots!
man... some people here could share some bits and pieces with us, five-camera mortals.
Of course, in my own little post I didn't list my two SLRs. Sure, like it makes any difference.
(This can be fun... in a sick way!

Hi Francisco,
I have no Canon Canonet QL 17, Konica C35, 0r Olympus 35 RC or SP mainly because I haven't found any in good working shape for a price I care to pay. In other words, I'm too cheap. Most of mine have been aquired over the years but lately I've picked up a hundred or so from Ebay. My entire collection has probably cost me less than some of our other members, but they're all fun whether they're cheap or expensive, right?
I admire fellows like Matt Denton and several others with wonderful websites and collections. My computer skills are pretty much limited to posting to forums and bidding on Ebay. As far as numbers go, I'll never be able to compete with guys like Doug Wilcox with over 2000 cameras or some guys with 50 + Leicas etc., but as long as your collection makes you happy and gets some use, that's really all that matters right?
I have to keep track of mine in a book since I buy and trade cameras quite often and it's next to impossible to keep track. I recently traded a broken prewar Contax ll rf for an Olympus OM 10 and 2 lenses. My collection is made up of: 78 RF's, 39 folders, 26 box, 20 TLR's, 50 SLR's, approx. 200 assorted misc. cameras, 131 lenses and converters, 18 meters, 51 flashes and more assorted doo dads than I can keep track of. Sort of flows from shelves to boxes to china cabinets and if my wife had her way, back to Ebay. : )

I guess you're proving I can make my dream come true... Although my wife, like yours, wouldn't be thrilled.

I must have married the right woman then - she is the one collecting cameras these days...not me
Lately I've seen old Kodak Brownie Hawkeye cameras, Olympus EEM, some weird Kodak Instamatic (500?) with a Schneider lens, Holga and a Lubitel coming through the doors.. Not to mention a NUMBER of camera bags and cases....
She actually uses them as well - you can see her collection at www.pbase.com/terriwu (collection of photos that is...not cameras)

I shouldn't complain about my wife, though. All in all, she's pretty patient.
It'd be terrible if SHE collected cameras!

Well-known
weirdcollector must run a used camera store! Jason Schneider, of Camera Collector fame, might want to get in touch.

My computer room and basement rec room look like a camera store. (ok, mostly a low end camera store) My wife is fond of saying, "I don't know how I'd sell your cameras if you died". I usually just wonder if she knows something I don't, or if that's why her cooking tastes strange lately. : )

hey doug,
welcome to the forum.
nice collection of cameras (what was your address again?)
i noticed you have a minolta 7s. i just got one from ebay and the meter is not working. the rest of the camera looks new, it's in great shape. i have a working battery installed, the asa is set, not to off, but i can't get it to work.
any helpful tips?
i'm thinking of keeping it and using the sunny 16 rule, it might make a good knock around camera.

Sorry, can't help you. My HiMatic 7S's meter isn't working either, but it was well worth the $5 it cost me at a garage sale, even as a purely manual camera.

so i take it that you use the camera?

The Minolta HiMatic 7S lens is good, but overall, I much prefer the Konica Auto S2 and I slightly prefer the Yashica Electro 35 GS, which, along with some Olympus and Canonet cameras, were the main competition for the HiMatic 7S when it came out

Well, my 2 euro cents to the RF list (no I won't win either...)
- FED 2 w/Industar 26M
- Zorki 3M w/Jupiter-8
- Jupiter-12 35 mm f2.8 (LTM)
- Kiev 4am w/Helios 103
- Agfa Isolette III w/Apotar f4.5
The Isolette is one of those things I use to call "ebay accidents", as I didn't think it was going to stop on $38... but what is done is done...
The 3M is a real pleasure to use, I'm not sure if the new arrived Kiev will surpass her...

I have:
Mamiya Super Press 23 with three lenses, extension tubes, and several backs - which I haven't used for a while
Argus C3 - which I have never yet used
Now if you want to talk folders, 9x12's, SLR's, the odd Browie, 616, etc......
