Firstly let me apologise for the horrible image quality (moving bus and all that.)

We grumble from time to time on this site about idiotic beaurocrats making life miserable for photographers - usually with the excuse that its in the interests of "security". In this vein I thought I would take the opportunity of posting this picture which demonstrates more of the Monty Pythonesque stupidity of this way of thinking.

This sign was spotted on a bus placed immediately ABOVE the very spot reserved on the bus for people to place their unattended baggage while sitting during the journey. Apparently the word "unattended" has some strange meaning only appreciated by the beaurocratic cognescenti!

Lets see more images in this vein if you have them. Its always good for a wry smile!

Bureaucrat's flunkies are worse

Bureaucrat's flunkies are worse

As heard on Toronto transit.
First time: "You can't take pictures here, it's because of the terrorists!"
Uh huh.
Second time: "You can't take pictures here! It's because of the "Privacy Act."
Uh huh.

Meanwhile, the only real prohibition (if these people understood their jobs) is against movie filming without a permit!

I was not permitted to carry my camera when I went into the polling room at the last election. Various security guards told me that it was not permitted to photograph the construction of the mass transit rail near where I live -- except through the gaps in a fence. In India, a uniform gives a person authority, and authority is something to be milked for all it is worth.
