As a rather famous chineses gentleman once said "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step" (or something like that).
First forrays into developing have resulting in an order for Tri-X and Diafine. I've read different opinions on Diafine but the consensus would seem to be to shoot at 1600 ASA.
Can you shoot at the original 400 ASA and if so what happens?
Cheers

Dense, very dense. Maybe you should have added a 2 or 3 stop ND filter to that order

Dense negs, dear boy
. I tried Diafine for a while on the glowing recommendations of some on this forum but soon returned to more controlled developers as I didn't like what it did with anything but Tri-x. If you have a search through the archives, Stephen, there is a thread somewhere in which someone shot Tri-x from EI12 - EI 12000 and souped in Diafine. It sort of worked

At first, I shot a few frames (of the same roll) at 800, a few at 1250, and a few at 1600. I settled on the 1250 setting.
