DR Summicron prices are rising as we speak.
(I love my ZM C Sonnar and since I had it adjusted for f/1.5, it doesn't present me any usability problems, given that I use it mostly close in at wide apertures).

Here's another ZM C Sonnar, taking advantage of the M8's high shutter speed of 8000, wide open. Love the combination of sharpness, creamy-dreamy OOF, and vivid colors.

Another proof that bokeh is personal and subjective. I dont find DR/Rigid Cron having a special bokeh. I think lenses like just about any Sonnar, Noctilux, Canon LTM 50/1.2, M-Hexanon 50/1.2 and even Nokton 50/1.5 having a far better bokeh. DR/Rigid have other qualities I like, but bokeh is not one of them for me.

Do not interchange optics and focus mounts. These are mated at the factory where exact measured focal is set to mounts to compensate for deviation from nominal. IE, if it works you are lucky.

I like the Elmar 50 2.8 old version, mine's a '62. I've tried most of the Summicrons and to be fair I don't think there is such a thing as a bad 'cron 50. Rigid, DR, type 4 and my own favorite, the type 5 with the clip on hood. I think with the 'crons it just comes down to handling as they all give a great look. Rigid (infinity lock bugged me) DR's (I find with my big hands that i'm always searching for the aperture ring). For me type 4 and 5 'crons are the perfect 50.

This is definitely subjective, but for what it's worth I don't rate the rigid or DR summicron particularly highly for bokeh. Of the 50s I've owned, it has to be the pre-asph summilux e46, but I see a lot to like in the Nokton 1.5 and especially the Hexanon 1.2 too.
