in the King's 1968 movie ," Live a Little, Love a Little " he plays the part of a Nikon SP using photographer.

It's much harder to sing and remember lyrics than it is to remember the sunny 16 rule-, plus the guy next to him on the "Jailhouse Rock" set has a meter 'round his neck..
He was on a movie set, photography is easy on a movie set! I wonder what cameras Elvis did have.. sending snaps home for Momma..
 
He wouldn't be the first person who went into a camera shop and said 'give me the best camera you got.' This is the guy who drove a BMW 507 while an active-duty private in Germany, and later handed out Cadillacs as loyalty prizes.
And in the 1950s, there were essentially no cameras with efficient, built-in coupled light meters.
