Yep, the very last official one, at least in Europe. Been hiding in Nikon warehouse, waiting for me. Come to papa! :)

Some people told me to keep it mint in the box. Say what? Oh no, out of the comfortable velvet bed and out to the streets! 2 rolls of Neopan 1600 shot, developing soon, high expectations on the 1.4/50 lens.
Observations? Feels a little better than my Kiev 4a :)

Congratulations, It is a great camera and that lens's is only rival is the 50f1.4 Asph from Leica.

Glad to hear that. Unfortunatelly will have to wait with developing as the house is full of visitors comming and going this month.
I'm now wondring if I should make it one-lens-camera or invest in another piece of glass (maybe 35). Not that necessary though as I've got some in M-mount, so using it for 50mm exclusively should be alright, especially if you say the lens is that good.
Will need a replacement lenscap though, the original comes off easily and I can just see myself loosing it.

(By the way, Tom, I'm pretty confident that at some point during 2008 Photokina I was standing next to you near Leica stand (smoking area). You were holding a couple of.... Leicas and I was thinking "this guy knows the score". I wasn't on this site much at the time. Next year I'll say hi).

You meet more people at the smoking area at Photokina than anywhere else! Next time say hello. We will be there in 2010.

Congrats, great camera! I have a black one that I have put exactly one roll through. Too darn pretty to shoot :)

Enjoy!!!

Beautiful! Glad to see it getting used, too. I'll look forward to seeing the shots from that 50.

:)

Glad to see you're ignoring those "Some people"!!!

Afterall the best thing for a Nikon S3 2000 is a steady diet of FILM :D

well..I have shot 20 rolls with the black one. Great camera but I want the sp instead. Let's just put this way. :D

Beautiful camera but it'll look better once it get's a few dings on it. In other words...shoot the h out of it.

I must admit, if I ever went over to the dark side it would be because of a chrome S3 2000 and that glorious 50/1.4. I still think it looks better, to me at least, than the black ones.

Jon, that is NOT fair ... :bang: ;)

About Neopan 1600 .... is there still a good supply in Tokyo ? Fuji has stopped offering the 20 rolls boxes and here in Sapporo, the film (only single roll boxes of either 135-24 or 135-36) is completely sold out. Had to order it and it may take 2 to 3 weeks. :(

I think its still available locally but am not 100% sure, Gabor. I'll check the next time I'm in Yodobashi in Yokohama.

Two to three weeks seems like a mighty long wait to order it in, especially for Japan!

After Fuji stopped offering the 20 rolls boxes of 1600PR in 135-36 there was a rush of buying the stores empty, some guys with good connections to Fuji and knowing in advance, bought the complete supplies. Then there was also a rumor that the film will be completely discontinued but as I heard, only the 20 rolls boxes are discontinued not the 1600PR itself ....

That's also what I was told yesterday at Yodobashi. Unfortunately, since the film is still in high demand, it is nowhere in stock and thus the long waiting time (at least in Sapporo).

Wow, so panic buying cleared out the entire stock.

If you were told two to three weeks before the next order arrives, I'm guessing that the situation is the same down here. I'll take a look at the local Yodobashi in the next day or so.
