A nice find, but I'm not sure if I could grasp the reason behind all the talks about autofocus in the article...
But with a camera like this and the fact that Leica more or less invented autofocus, consumer would have had a total winner.
Does it mean the author believes should they have continued with the project, it would be Leica who invented autofocus?

Wikipedia:
"Between 1960 and 1973, Leitz (Leica) patented an array of autofocus and corresponding sensor technologies. At photokina 1976, Leica had presented a camera based on their previous development, named Correfot, and in 1978 they displayed an SLR camera with fully operational autofocus. The first mass-produced autofocus camera was the Konica C35 AF, a simple point and shoot model released in 1977."
Autofocus does not seem related to the H camera, and I'd guess the AF reference earlier in the thread may have been meant to be auto exposure.

Thank you, Sir, for sharing.
Very interesting read. I've known several folks I worked with at Apple and Wang who made some GREAT products that never saw the light of day. None were very happy with the decision from management. One decision helped ruin the company, most were what might have been the right decision at the time.

Beautiful design.
It did ring a bell though, and I looked up images of the Rollei 35-QZ. Very different, but leaves the same impression when it comes to the top deck layout..
