Perhaps it's getting difficult for Leica to choose worthy photographers for their limited edition models , .... So if it were up to you ,what deserving photographer would be your next choice ?

Here's mine .....

Leica has officially announced a new limited edition “Fangio” version of the Leica M-P digital rangefinder, designed by Vladimir

wood grip is nice, I might copying it .. not sure about the sans lug though..

You mean Lenny Kravitz is not a deserving enough photographer!?

The problem is Leica's are not the bees knees as far as professional use goes. I'd like to see a Trent Parke edition, but he also uses other cameras, so Leica probably wouldn't go for it. I wonder how many well known famous professional* photographers exclusively use Leica M's these days? I'd hazard a guess that its not many. Then how many of those have a distinctive style or way of operating the camera that can be captured? DDD's cameras had the special focusing lever for instance.

*professional can be artist, press, whatever type.

Personally, I'd just like to see nice limited editions that are not necessarily associated with a photographer. Like the Millennium for instance. I also like the historical references, like the MP3 set.
That's what I'd like, a mix of the M60 and the MP3 - black paint, 35-50-90 framelines only, no A on the shutter dial, and make the shutter dial small and go the right (I mean traditional) way, and make it stop at each end, and with strap lugs in the old shape. Call it the M-3, oops I mean the MP6, oops I mean the MP30, how about the MP60, nah, the MP3 (typ XXX). Yeah, that's it, traditional, but with (typ XXX) after the name.

Michael,
The "Lenny" is fine by me....; )
There must be a few people out there that buy these cameras or Leica would not make them . I wonder if editions made for the unsung heroes of photography ,famous or not would be a good idea or not ? Would a 125 "Vlad" editions sell to collectors ?

The "Trent Parke" would be cool ......

yesaroo,
Yes the grip is cool and the fact he removes the paint and lugs to lighten up the camera is brilliant .. main thing though .... He is an incredible photographer that has been at for some time .....

I actually thing the LK edition looks really cool. I wouldn't pay extra for it, but I'm not the market.
Leica have gone a half-hearted (or two-hearted) with this one. They call it the "Leica M-P Correspondent by Lenny Kravitz for Kravitz Design" (what a mouthful!), but it doesn't have his signature or any reference to him on it. I think they should either call it the "Correspondent", with no reference to LK, or call it the "Lenny Kravitz", and include something about him on it, like his signature.

I'd still like my "M-P3 (typ 001) Camera For Taking Pictures by Michael for Michael Design". I think the name will really catch on!
