I was meaning to order The Leica Manual (12th or 13th edition), but after I submitted and paid for my order, I noticed I may have bought the wrong book. The book I ended up ordering (1956 printing) is called "The Leica Manual and Data Book".

I meant to get just "The Leica Manual". Not sure what the differences in the books are. After I receive The Leica Manual & Data Book, will I also still need to buy the Leica Manual? In other words, is there different info in both books, or are they pretty much duplicate info?

Thanks!

you mean the morgan and morgan books? those manuals are pretty interesting if you get the one published after your camera was introduced. i have a few of them and they say basically the same things but the technical data for cameras and film speeds change with the times. so if you have an m3, don't buy the manual printed in 1951, it will only cover screw mounts.
ps--these things should be pretty cheap. i've never paid more than a couple of bucks for one and i have most of them...

i just looked those books up and the 13th version is the '...and data book,' so it should cover anything the 12th covered.

thanks very much! I was thinking they might be different books... wasn't sure.

one is listed by "morgan & morgan" and one is listed by "morgan & lester".

I'm a new leica owner (post-war IIIc - no lens yet), so I was wanting the 12th or 13th edition.

didn't know they changed the name slightly from the 12th to the 13th.

edit: I paid $9.95 for a "Very Good" copy.
