just saw the photo's of Albini and the lads (Weston, Trainer). what i woudn't do for a Travis Bean (and one of Albini's heads).

Certainly the high point of my week was Mr. Weston handing me his brand-new, custom-made 8-string bass (in creamsicle orange, no less!) to take for a spin.. a stunning instrument. Almost made me feel like playing music again! 🙂

Interesting coincidence: Bob's also an OM shooter.

That is an awesome story! Great first roll! and I'm sure he will have many more to come.
I too was hooked by the OM from a fellow rff who let me borrow a OM-2S, then sold the camera to me with lenses for a steal. The generosity of some members on this site has always impressed me. I actually just picked up another OM-1 from the same member (I'm addicted now!)... this one will be going off to John H for some TLC.
My hope is that this camera will be the OM that gets my daughter hooked... of course that is 6-10 years away, but the OM-1 will easily be around for that long. Having your child experience the "magic" of film and enjoy photography as much as you do is something very special!

he did everything. rated the film, hand held meter for everything, loaded film on reels, agitated, rinsed and cut and sleeved the negs (hey! wait a minute, maybe i could... no, no. that would be wrong).

wow! i am thrilled to hear that!!! it was downright scary to hear of his battle with cancer. i feel somewhat foolish for not knowing he is on the winning side of this battle.

my three year old daughter won't go anywhere without her "special camera". a himatic G. i bought her a fisher price digital job that she won't touch but god forbid we misplace the himatic!

another year and i will start loading it with film!
