Hey guys!..

This is my first post on this forum.

I dont know if this has been done before, but I would like to play a game called "Guess the price". You see, I bought the following in a kit: Mamiya 645 1000S, Mamiya Sekor 80mm f/2.8, Mamiya Sekor 150mm f/3.5, Mamiya Sekor 55mm f/2.8, Extender, Zwischenringe(dont know the name in english), Prismensucher, Winkelsucher, Close-UP Lens, 2 Filmeinsätze and an aluminium briefcase to hold everythng. It is all in excellent working order with only minor cosmetic flaws!
It was just hours ago that I bought the Mamiya which is my first MF-camera! Obviously, I cant wait to load some film into that badboy! But, since it will be another 4-5days before the postman comes knocking, I thought that maybe you guys could post some of you best pictures taken with Mamiya? Maybe even a link to a full-size scan? So, start guessing and start posting 🙂

Hi there,
I think you come from Germany, Switzerland or Austria? 🙂
Zwischenringe is extended tube, prismensucher is prism viewfinder,...
That is very good camera, build like a tank and can damage your floor if you drop it.😛 When I started MF not so long ago, I was going to get 645 1000s but it is impossible and now I use its younger brother, RZ67 😀.
Well, have fun and good luck with it. If you want, buy an adapter and you can use Pentacon Six lenses. These lenses are plenty, easy to find, cheap to afford and very good quality (especially the bulky and mighty CZJ Sonnar 180 2.8).
Regards,
Thinh.

Good system that will serve you a long time. The Mamiya lenses aren't expensive for the quality offered. And you already have a nice selection to start with.

Apart from the 180/2.8 and 30/3.5 I haven't found any of the pentacon 6 lenses worth adapting to the mamiya 645. Even the 30/3.5 is debatable as the mamiya 35/3.5 is a better wide angle and the difference in "wideness" is minimal.

I can't wait to try it out! Im especially curious about the quality of the lenses.. Can anybody put into words how the quality and the feel compare to the Carl Zeiss for the Hasselblad V-system? I used to work for a photographer when I was 16, who used a 503CW with a leaf back for his studio work. I remember how I used to druel over the pictures blown up onto the 30" monitor in his studio - so amazing! Although I own the 5D mark II(an amazing camera), the debth and the quality of the pictures does not even come close to what I remember from that time with the 503CW. I hope to find that the Mamiya gives me just a little bit of the debth that I remember from the Hasselblad? I have been trying to find a large file of a quality scan online, but it is nowhere to be found? Obviously, the format is the larger 6x6 and from what I can read online the Carl Zeiss lenses on the Hasselblad are better than the Mamiya.. However, nowhere can I read exactly in which regard the lenses are better? Are they sharper, do they give more contrast(as far as I can tell the zeiss are pretty contrasty?).. As you can tell, I really like the look of the pictures from the Hasselblad, but I guess that because it is the same film you load in the camera the only real difference(except from the format) between the two will be features unique to each lens line-up? So, if that is the case is it possible to mount lenses that brings features close to the ones found in the Zeiss? I have alot of questions.. :O

Hi there,
I think you come from Germany, Switzerland or Austria? 🙂

Actially, Im from Denmark 😉

Just give it a try. It depends on people's taste, so I cant comment. However, I like how my Mamiya lenses do with B&W, I just uh oh love it and I dont want to use color negative anymore. 😎 Zeiss renders colors differently and yeah sure, I love them too and there you are, I have GAS 😛.
And let me guess, you bought this in ebay germany?😀
