Another point about the classifieds, it's nearly all North America, even though we have sizeable membership in other parts of the world. Especially our European members should be enough, and shipping easy and cheap enough, to make the classifieds worthwhile? But I think we have all stopped even looking because it's all NA, and this again makes listing something pointless. I won't do it, and pay the fees, again in this situation. Consider waiving the fees for a while to reach the threshold of enough listings and lookers to make the classifieds worthwhile for those in Europe??

I won't use it now to buy. A member advertised a repainted and refurbished camera, I clicked buy it now, paid, to find it had already been sold (I was told by another member the software doesn't update the sale status if sold). The seller rapidly refunded me but as I had paid in USD (converted from Pounds) I took a bath on the refund by the time it had been converted back in Pounds.

It is the time of year: people are paying off xmas bills, winter/summer travel, and putting some extra away into retirement funds before the deadline.
That said, the good deals go fast, as always. A lot of the ads lately have been "try-to-cash-in-on-film-cameras" (like over $4000US for an Xpan, anyone?) so I think people are gun shy at the moment.
