It took forever, but I'm getting down to one body, two lenses. Trouble is, one lens is a Nikon, the other a Canon FD. Tried to find a FD to Nikon adapter (can't do it w/o having an optical element in the adapter), but did find a Nikon to Canon FD on eBait for $16, shipped. Build quality is fine, although the Canon made ones are undoubtedly built better.

I find it easier to mount the adapter on the camera first, then twist the lens into it. The camera will meter w/ the Nikon lens in manual mode just fine, and it's fast to use w/ it's exposure lock button feature for tricky lighting. Best used w/ a non ai lens to get that strange look. I love adapters. If I hit the lottery I can buy a Leica R lens, put an R to Nikon F adapter on it, then screw it into this adapter and shoot the Leica lens on the AE-1. Cool.

On the AE-1 Program it's manual metering (although the lens aperture stops down). You match the shutter speeds to the aperture by the LED in the viewfinder.
