The OMD is easier to focus manually in low light than my OM-1!

The only thing I don't like is the menu system, it's mega confusing. The manual is pretty pitiful as well.

True ... it is pretty confusing and the manual is godawful I agree!

I've seen a Fuji X-1 on the classified, I have yet to see an OM-D there.

I don't think I'll be using anything other than dedicated micro four thirds lenses on this thing ... I struggle to see value in that when the Summilux 25mm f1.4 is not really that expensive and a fast 35mm equivalent won't exactly cost an arm and a leg either. Not to mention these lenses have been designed for the sensor they're being used with.

Wise.
We'll see Panny and Oly trip over each other serving us good lenses in the times to come.

For once we have the cake and can eat it too.

... that is if you have about 2000 bucks to spend.

For those using M4/3-M adapters, could you please recommend me a brand? I had RJ camera one long ago and it was OK, but the lens mounting was rather loose. I just received Fotodiox one from Amazon but it was super loose and wobbling like heck so It's going back.

I guess Voigtlander and Panasonic are the (though pricy) good choices here. Are they tight and smooth? Anyone getting good results with those or others?

i got rid of my panasonic m4/3 gear mostly because of the format...it seemed so toylike despite some great images produced...it's all so confusing at times.

I am impressed with the 12-50mm but it is fairly big and it zooms in and out more like a camcorder. Just turn the ring slightly and it zooms with a motor. Your zoom time will only be as fast as the motor. No rush shooting.
There is a strange low noise sound from the camera. It sounds like a very small computer fan. I read it was ths IS working but the noise is still present with the IS off.
I had given up on Olympus until the E-M5. This one will do you a long time without an upgrade.

I thought you can zoom in and out manually without using the motor, just have to push the zoom ring forward(or backward) then you can zoom in/out like regular zoom lens.

Cosmo- you can turn the power zoom off, and manually zoom the lens. I don't have one to play with right now, but you just slide the zoom ring either forward or backward (can't remember which) and it will click in place on a manual zoom setting. (the same way you get it into macro mode, but without pushing the macro button).
