Schneider Creusot, a long and convoluted history as you can see at Wikipedia but back in 1891 they were making locomotives and I had a nice ride behind this one yesterday.
Snaps taken with a Samsung NX20, well at least the 20-50mm lens had a "Schneider blue ring" on it 🙂

Though I'm no trainspotter, I'm a bit partial to a bit of classic engineering myself.

Since moving to France from England my one regret is lack of opportunities to see steam trains in action so this was a rare birthday treat for me - had to drive 100 miles to get to it though.... In England I could get to 4 or 5 heritage railway sites within 50 miles!
 
Schneider was the French Krupp, and eventually morphed into Schneider Electric, which probably made the electric mains in your house (Square D). Descendants of the Schneider family are still prominent in the French business community, like the Schlumbergers, Lazard or Wendell.
