A short note on this.

The film is Everlasting Moments, which galfriend rented the night before and watched, but which I only got to see in the wee hours this morning. Based on a true story of Maria Larsson, living a rough-and-tumble life with a wayward and alcoholic husband, and whose life is changed when she wins a camera in a contest. Let's just say my shorthand description does little to no justice to the film, which is big on nuance and small on over-the-top dramatics, which is more or less the way I like films. And, wonder of wonders, they get most of the technical details right.

The film was released in 2008. (I wonder if the price of used Contessas were affected afterward...)

Edit: Funny that I'm noticing this now, but Will (shadowfox) mentioned the film here almost exactly a year ago. Didn't think I was the first here to notice, but I reiterate that it's a must-see.

Edit #2: Now, I have this urge to utter "Piff Paff Puff!" whenever I take a posed picture of someone. (Beats all hell out of "Cheese!")

Thanks Barrett. Just put in a request for an inter-library loan through my local library. Look forward to it!
