I've considered getting the Xpro to replace my RD1. I like my X100 and enjoy using it and thought I'd pair it up with the Xpro. Been looking at the refurbished models on the Fuji site but keep hesitating.

But to the original question:
If I didn't already own the X2, or the M9, or the E-1, I'd snap up an RX1 in a jiffy. As it is, I just spent $2500 on a Voigtländer Bessa III ... one lens, permanently, and film. Sheesh, what am I thinking? ;-)
oh yeah, I love this camera...
So if the RX1 tickles you properly, just go for it and use it a lot! That's the real value of these things—that we enjoy using them and make the photos we envision with them. Nothing else really matters.
As long as you've got your rent paid, of course. ]'-)

i've sorta lost interest in the xpro-1...if i want the rx1 then all other cameras have to be off the table...unless i sold my rd1 bodies and lenses and i am not quite ready for that.

you are quite right about buying what pleases you...if i get the rx1 i would use it alot and i think it would be a joyful experience.

An amusing side note ... I'm scanning 6x6 negatives with my still-ancient Epson 2450 flat bed scanner. Not the greatest but it does a good enough job for the moment. Scanning resolution is nominally 2400 ppi, which nets about 5290x5290 image pixels for a 28 Mpixel image.
Hmm, that's puts the $2500 Voigtländer right in line with the RX1's 24 Mpixel sensor—and price! The camera is a tad larger, however...
