Canon LTM The Prices On These Is Getting Ridiculous

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
a good well set up J-3 will give you all the fast Sonnar galore at a fraction of the cost.

The Canon 50/1.5 only goes to 3ft. The Nikkor 5cm Rigid mount LTM lenses can be made to RF couple to 0.7m.

My J-3's are as good as my Canon 50/1.5 at 3ft... but I'm not selling the Canon.

This is fascinating. At first I thought I was looking at a Buy It Now price, but this is auction with 16 bids.

This is the RFF bubble. I predict the 50/1.5 prices will eventually come back down as have similar lenses and cameras hyped here in the past.

Anybody want to over-hype the 50mm f1.8? We could make a fortune with how cheap they go for right now. :D
(sarcasm)

It is best not to over hype anything.

I'd rather see useable photo gear remain affordable and available to our members and let the gamblers risk their money on other moola making black holes.

Nah, we don't want to make it harder for folks to afford a lens that's actually very good. If the goal is simply to find a way to part fools from their money, we should do it without harming the RF user community -- by hyping a really crappy lens. ;)

I still think the most undervalued Canon is the 50/1.4. For me, more useful than the pre-asph Summilux. And no, I won't part from mine :)

I have one of these, and hardly ever use it, because I do not like the way it renders colors (colors are on the cool side).

Maybe I should get rid of it, and put it the proceeds toward that 50/1.1 Zunow on eBay... :)

You are right with respect to color rendition ... I love the resolution, size, built and long throw though, and for warmer colors, pick different film, typically. The 50/1.4 goes along well with other, not so contrasty lenses like the 28/1.9.

The Zunow .... now there is an attractive Sonnar :) So much more interesting than the Noctilux !

Leicashop in Vienna have one, too:
