Is that thin dainty new body..
It just can't handle manly mother Russia lenses. Too small..
We need a nice meaty body for that!

But it's a myth small body can't take big lens.

However, photographer must change technique.......not a given....and hold by the lens, not the body.
This I handhold all the time:

300/2.8 ais by unoh7, label is wrong
No Leica Lens I prefer....

Bo Peep by unoh7, Nikkor 300/2.8 EDIF
The only 300 I've ever liked, which saved Nikon amoung the 80s press photographers, when Canon was getting so strong.
I never wanted a heavier body, that's for sure.

This thing was so expensive when new, few private individuals bought them. The newspaper or magazine bought one, and you checked it out. So it is not really that well known. First "ED" lens I think. Later they made the 180/2.8 ED which is a legend, but while it's really sharp, bokeh is crap, like so many Nikon SLR lenses. However, the 500/4 P is equally dreamy and sharp, and is also built like a tank. Both are lighter than any modern AF version, and just as good when you hit the focus.
I'd shoot them both on M10 with EVF in a second, with care, of course
They say the Lag/blackout is way better shooting LV or with EVF than 240 and EVF much improved too.

Now this one I have a hard time holding by hand. If it's on the pod why do I want the big body, again?
Here on a fence post:

As Kramer from Seinfeld used to say "Hoochie Mumma"! I am not sure what Hoochie Mumma means but I figure its probably the opposite to "Serenity Now"!
