Does this film dry flat in your experience? For scanning purposes. Arista Premium 400 (tri-x) gives me a curl that is hard to flatten even after days under stacks of photo books.

I apologize if the heads-up was of little value. For the record, the 'ray of sunshine' i alluded to in my original post was for the folks who at one point lamented the loss of an attractively-priced film that was thought to be no longer available. I was merely passing along info that some might find helpful, despite the downside of a less-than-optimal date of expiry. To that end, the only encouraging i would do is to 'shoot fast'! 😉

Short dated specials never worry me ... if kept frozen this stuff will last for years. I just find it sad that it looks a little like this may be the 'last hurrah' for Legacy Pro ... it's definitely been the cheapest high quality black and white film I've ever used.

Hey Cale, before this batch, LP 400, short dated or not was gone. At least there is a chance to get some again for a little while, at that great price.

Not to be too obvious, but you could just buy Neopan 400...sure, it costs more, but it is the same thing. Legacy Pro might be back eventually, but it depends on whether Freestyle can get a new supply from Fuji...I suspect Freestyle would certainly reorder if they could.

I'm intrigued that Freestyle are awaiting stock of film that is already short dated when they get it.

How much of this stuff does Fuji have stockpiled and what happens to it if it slips past it's use by date ... surely they'd just trash it at this stage because I can't see any large manufacturer selling an expired product in this day and age.

I was there two weeks ago and was told they were out of everything (short dated stock)
They did have Legacy Pro 100 in 100' rolls so I bought two rolls...

Having just shot my first role of Premium 400, mine too curled quite a bit, but it did get flat-ish after a couple of days under some books. I find the Legacy Pro 400 dries flatter.

I wonder if you let film to break flat after drying? I mean, keeping it overnight rolled in reverse than it's on spool.

Seems that last waves of LP aren't reaching old Europe (kind of expensive to shoip from FS) so I can relax and enjoy my stock, meanwhile looking for next great film (I keep an eye on Rollei RPX400).

After drying by hanging it, I cut and press the film between the pages of a heavy book. After an hour or so it is perfect for scanning.
