I called this morning as was told that the film would be in later this week. They are taking orders on it. I was told they would have 750 100' rolls later in the week, plus the 20 packs of 24 and 36. I just put my order in.

Thanks for calling for us. I just ordered five twenty packs of 400. I do like this film and I just bought a film freezer (7 cu ft) for less than $190 from Costco. It is really deep and I need something to put in the bottom.

hopefully it is not just a clearing of old Neopan stock. short date specials are not as encouraging as a full delivery of new stock.
I hope it is short dated. That would indicate a residual of previous years problems of normal demand being less than their production.
If new stock, that is an indication that b&w film demand is still less than their revised production level. Manufacturers decide to discontinue products when they have to "fire sale" their production capacity.
It was a bad sign last year when both Kodak and Fuji could not sell all their b&w film production through normal channels.
It is a bit like feeling good from the discounts when one of your favorite places is having a going out of business sale.

ahhhhhhh...
sorry for hijacking the thread...
i saw this post last night, but because they are short dated and i am not sure how long will i take to finish it, so i went onto ordered a 100 ft of Arista Premium...
Will also try to get a film loader this week, hopefully.
My question is,
after I put the film to the film loader, fill the film into the cassette ( I bought 5),
then how should I store the rest?
Put the whole film loader into the freezer?

Less than $190 @ Costco? Hmmm, I may have to do that myself, as well as order more NP400. This is from my last roll of NP 400 (in Xtol 1+1)

I wonder if you let film to break flat after drying? I mean, keeping it overnight rolled in reverse than it's on spool.
Seems that last waves of LP aren't reaching old Europe (kind of expensive to shoip from FS) so I can relax and enjoy my stock, meanwhile looking for next great film (I keep an eye on Rollei RPX400).
That's a great way to flatten Arista Prem. Overnight or even longer. Quite flat afterwards. Ready for cutting and sleeving.

I ordered 100 of the 400 after it was listed as out of stock and all shipped immediately. So, order early and often... Great film.

Does anyone know the expiration date(s)?
The film is described only as "short dated"...

Mine was 07/11
I ordered the 400, so it might have been better to purchase the 100 short dated. I don't have much experience with higher ISO B&W film at expiration. I've got mine frozen, but I haven't a clue how it was stored.

Storing it?
Storing it?
Hi all,
I'm thinking about buying 40 rolls, but I'm not sure how to store it then.
I understand that if I put it in the freezer and then take it out for shooting, it would work ok. But, after de-freezing it, in what time do I have to shoot it and develop it, to be sure that nothing would go wrong? One week, one month,...?
I'm from Croatia, and with horrible shipping costs of $50 I either buy a whole lot of it, or I don't buy any.
TIA!

I'm not an expert by any means, but I've shot film that had been expired for years, not frozen even and it came out fine. So I'd hazard to guess that if you shot a few rolls and let them sit for a couple of months, they would be fine. I usually stockpile exposed film until I have a couple days to develop it all and I've had no problems.

Hi, a couple of things to remember:
1. Buy it at the begining of the week so it doesn't lie in some hot postal depot over a weekend.
2. When it arrives split the delivery up into plastic freezer bags of 10 films in each (say). Put in freezer and one bag ready in fridge.
3. Out of the fridge bring up to temp in your pocket (an hour say) Out of the freezer, overnight de-chill.
Good Luck
