As a confirmed photographer of things (landscape, buildings) I've never been that interested in or comfortable with photographing people, particularly formally in that "right, lets take your photo" way.
Until Sunday when I got to do a shoot for a local band that a work colleague plays bass for...
Now I understand why portrait photographers do it, if you can get shots like this...
Of course it helps if your subject is a natural showoff (as all lead singers are) but its kind of weird to generate such a relaxed and intimate look from someone you met half an hour before.
I'll be doing more of this, definitely, suddenly all those shots of trees and boats are somewhat boring...
