I was reading a book about photography in the Victorian period and learned that Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert was quite the shutter bug and even had a darkroom constructed at Windsor castle.

I understand that Queen Elizabeth carries on the tradition of royal snap shooting, happily snapping away with her Leica.

Does anyone know if there is still a darkroom at Windsor Castle?

I wonder what the Queen's work flow is.... What does she do with the photos she takes? Does she shoot slide or print film, colour or black and white? Does she have prints made? Is she now shooting digital? Does she have a flickr account?

once or twice a week shes steps into the nearest 1h lab and asks the films to be developed and scanned. Prints are expensive ya'know.

Or maybe she shoots Kodachrome and has her own processing lab in the basement.

In reality, she probably gives the films to someone, who gets them developed and printed. The Queen then chooses her favourite images, which will go into albums.

Actualy, I have no idea...

maybe she uses an M8
