I love this story! 🙂)
The Russian government has launched a campaign to keep young Russians from taking dangerous selfies, according to the Izvestia newspaper.

On Tuesday, the Russian Interior Ministry released an illustrated guide warning people about the dangers of taking selfies. The booklet is complete with pictures of people taking selfies on boats, in front of an oncoming train, and standing on a rooftop, accompanied by captions like: "A selfie on railroads is a bad idea, if you value your life," and "A selfie with animals isn’t always nice."

There is another Russian story (on Russia Today) of a 20 year old woman who shot herself in the head while she was taking a picture of herself with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol. She had borrowed the gun from a friend who was a guard, but she had no prior firearms experience.

Russia has no monopoly on this kind of insanity. I worked on a book centered around a level one trauma center and flew with the emergency helicopter service over several months. I'm always amazed how creative people are coming up with ways to self destruct.

A close friend that's a pilot for a emergency helicopter service says his best customers last words are often "hold this and watch me".
