Those are only the asking prices. I’m told one needs to look at the sold prices to get a better indication.

What made me laugh was a Leica advertised as having an extremely rare serial number...

You may be right, but if these are the asking prices for poor Leika fakes how much will they be asking for good Leica fakes?

Things must be bad in Japan if you are willing to sell grandpa's war trophy.

The first link is from some greedy moron with shipping address in Japan.
It is not inflation, but "some difficulties to ship" from Ukraine and Russia. Two and only sources of dirt cheap Zorki.

I wonder how people can be so gullible to actually buy these.

The first one is shown as a "Leica Copy" but the correct term is counterfeit. A copy is more honest, usually bearing the true name of the manufacturer.
The second one is even more clearly a counterfeit: They didn't even bother to call it a copy. It is being sold as an actual Leica.
False items can be reported.

Ebay does nothing about these counterfeit cameras and lenses- I stopped reporting them, was a waste of time.

I was once shown a 250 Reporter that had been made in Poland using parts of a III. It was very, very good and far from cheap. The wear (it was black) seemed perfectly authentic. In those days it was called a copy.

Think about it, Brian. People are duped into believing untruths all the time. Nature of today's politics especially.

And I don't get the "from JAPAN" statement that is in the description of many of the true and fake Leica items sold on eBay nowadays....

I wonder if they are making an inference that it's from a collector's "stash" - therefore, authentic and 'minty'?
