Nuts.
(joe, feel free to start laughing at me any time)
So, I have been happily using my motley collection of old, cheap and fun RF cameras for a while now. And a pretty good selection of LTM lenses. Flirted very briefly with the thought of a Contax but decided that I was happy with the FSU gear. Had a Bessa R and ultimately passed it along(though I did keep the CV 21mm lens).
Life is good.
But the Bessa R4 is announced. And it occurs to me that the Leica M3 would be an almost perfect companion.
Oh, bother.
The Slope has turned vertical and I seem to have a lead parachute...
I know all the rational reasons for (and against) sticking with what I have now--in fact, I've made some of those points in other discussions.
What it comes down to, I guess, is how much this "itch" is going to bother me.
At least half of my enjoyment comes from the gear I use--I really do like elegant mechanical things--so if I move in this direction that part of my hobby will be enhanced.
The other thing going through my mind is that, since I do have the mechanical elegance fetish, it probably will bother me at least a little using ltm lenses on an M mount camera. Which means my lens choices will dwindle. Which might actually make my photos better🙄 OK, that line of "reasoning" is BS rationalization for sure.
Nuts.
