I have just uploaded a new page to my blog on my Super Ikonta A. Take a look.

Enjoy. WES

Nicely done, hank you Wes! The Ikonta A is well deserving of some attention for sure! I also have a not Super version and love the compactness and images I've gotten with that one.

Nice camera. I had a Voigtlander Baby Bessa 6x4.5 for a couple of years and it was my basic pocket camera moving about town, etc. Then I had a Zeiss Super Ikonta like yours, only with a non-albada finder. Fun. Such an easy camera to carry!

I have one now with the albada finder and the finder is horrible. Everything is gray-blue. I don't care about the frame lines if I could just get rid of the silvering. Maybe I'll rip it out and make a simple frame guesstimate finder and take my chances.

How is the lens doing for you? I've had some great look with uncoated Tessars- black and white only. Flare can be a problem if I don't pay attention.

I have only shot color with the Tessar. Look at the two pictures. Perhaps a little less contrast compared to a "modern" lens, but otherwise excellent results. Certainly sharp.

Your color images have a very similar look to my black and white. Soft tones but sharp detail? Hard to verbalize but wonderful look. Thanks for reminding me. These are from a different camera but same period Tessar-

That cleaned up nicely! I picked up a Super II recently and hope to take it out next month to the Green Bank Observatory in WV where you can only shoot film on-site. Good to see your examples, thanks for sharing.
